After all behind the overemphasis of each individual attribute such as Greekness is hidden its value overvaluation with an implied degradation of the cultural characteristics of other groups. And this is in addition to being arbitrary also dangerous. There are words loaded with weight and value beyond question. One of them is the word hope whose content has been inflated to a level equivalent if not synonymous with life itself. Those who even for a moment feel this word escaping them and its essence abandoning them are suddenly at the limit of their weakness not only to enjoy life but even to watch it unfold. However life is not hope.
Rather it is a succession of dashed hopes. Images we’ve made e-commerce photo editing that we notice are undone or altered when it’s time to live them. Plans and dreams for happiness love and success which lose their luster as the moment approaches to enjoy them. Hopes unfulfilled which give way to others whose fulfillment probability becomes less and less proportional to the intensity we have invested over the years. Hope is related to disappointment in the same measure that happiness is defined and realized in reference to unhappiness. Even the very fulfillment of a hope constitutes at the same time its abolition leading to a deadend agony through alternating hopes and disappointments.

Nevertheless the knowledge that hope is more often the other side of disappointment and that the latter could not exist if the former had not been inflated goes hand in hand with the happy realization that life takes care to surprise us with events that do not we had hoped since we had not even imagined them. If therefore for the moment we accepted that there is nothing to hope for we would be ready to face every new and sharp turn of life. Then curiosity would gain a dominant position. For for the next moment. For the plot of the novel we are living. Curiosity that would lead us to continuous exploration of our limits. Curiosity about our next rather hopeless love.
